Join us to celebrate a unique cruising milestone in Rotterdam, a fitting location for any maritime festivity. The 28th of August 2021 marks 25 years since cruises began from the city’s Cruise Port Rotterdam. This landmark will be commemorated by the Rotterdam Regatta, with special events and celebrations planned across the city’s port. The CMV fleet will arrive in port between 9 and 10am, with shuttlebuses operating throughout the day, ferrying guests from the ships to the celebrations, and back again.
The regatta will culminate in the CMV Fleet Parade, providing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see all seven CMV ships, led by the iconic Marco Polo, and all in their new livery, sail 28 nautical miles up and down the Meuse River. Join Amy Johnson, Marco Polo, Magellan, Columbus, Vasco da Gama, Jules Verne and Ida Pfeiffer at around 5pm for what promises to be a truly unique cruising spectacle.
Rotterdam has a rich maritime heritage dating back to the 14th century, when the Rotterdamse Schie canal opened, and the city became an important trans-shipment centre between England and Germany. Today, almost 700 years later, the city is home to Europe’s largest port – the perfect setting for this wonderful cruising celebration!
