Holland, France & Northern Ireland

Spend eight nights on board sleek Magellan as she sails out of Liverpool and to Normandy, making fascinating calls at some historic places of interest including Portsmouth and Rotterdam.

Follow the Dutch coast west until you meet the Seine, then follow its meandering path to ‘Joan of Arc city’ Rouen, with its beautifully restored medieval centre. Depart: 1600hrs

The Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam is Magellan's destination, today. Step ashore to see the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Browse the world-class museums, explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.

Today, the CMV fleet will meet in Rotterdam to celebrate 25 years of cruising from Cruise Port Rotterdam. The Rotterdam Regatta will celebrate this special cruising milestone, with celebrations and event planned through the day, culminating in the CMV Fleet Parade at around 5pm, when all seven CMV ships, in their new livery and led by the iconic Marco Polo will sail in convoy up and down the Meuse River for 28 nautical miles, in what promises to be a truly unique cruising spectacle!

  • Today Magellan arrives at the mouth of the Seine and her next port of call: Le Havre. The striking modern architecture that you'll find everywhere in this historic port is the result of the post-war reconstruction project masterminded by Belgian architect, Auguste Perret, and has led to the city's classification as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Across the river mouth stands Honfleur, a former favourite of the French Impressionists.
