With a blend of authentic cultures, traditional charms and fascinating history to uncover as you embrace and engage with local life in Cape Verde and Morocco, this cruise provides unique, unforgettable experiences throughout. You’re sure to be captivated by the African and Portuguese influenced architecture, music and dance, and the hustle and bustle of, the trio of Cape Verdean destinations on your itinerary. In each, the friendly locals will welcome you to sample their lifestyle; you could browse busy markets, shake your hips to ‘Funaná’ beats, and of course try the local produce, such as Grogue – the national drink. During your visit to Praia, you could also get a feel for Santiago’s history on a tour to UNESCO-listed Cidade Velha, a former slave trading post, while Mindelo is your gateway to discovering beautiful landscapes and volcanic wonders, such as Monte Verde. On Santo Antão, vibrant Porto Novo is a haven for relaxation, boasting welcoming bars and a picturesque harbour, and overlooked by towering Topo de Coroa, offering panoramic scenic views from its peak.
After Cape Verde, visits to Agadir, Casablanca and Tangier throw a mix of Morocco’s modern delights and ancient treasures into the melting pot. The buzz of day-to-day life in these cities is something to behold as you explore bustling souks, charming streets and pretty squares, and in each, an abundance of attractions await your discovery. Undoubted highlights to seek-out include the ancient Kasbah of Agadir, and Casablanca’s magnificent Hassan II Mosque, famed for its 210-metre-high minaret. In Tangier, a morning call allows ample time soak up the city’s sights; or perhaps uncover UNESCO-listed Tétouan and its famous ancient medina on tour. Beyond the sites and highlights, you’ve even a chance to learn to cook like the Berbers in Casablanca; and indulge in some rest and relaxation on Agadir’s warm golden sands.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.

Rules may have changed since you last travelled to European Union countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The following are useful guidelines which will help you prepare for your next adventure. Note that these new rules do NOT apply when travelling within the United Kingdom or to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland. You do require government issued ID when travelling by air though.
Your passport must meet two requirements to travel to an EU country and to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. It must be:
These rules do not apply to travel to Ireland where you can continue to use your passport as long as it’s valid for the length of your stay.
If you’re a tourist, you do not need a visa for short trips to most EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You’ll be able to stay for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. Different rules will apply to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania; if you visit these countries, visits to other EU countries will not count towards the 90-day total. Travel to Ireland will not change and stays there will not count towards the 90-day total.
Towards the end of 2022, it is likely that non EU citizens will be required to apply online for an authorisation to visit most European countries. The current details suggest there will be a charge of €7 per person and the authorisation will be valid for all trips made to the EU in a three year period from issue. We will advise you of confirmed details prior to your tour’s departure.
At border control, you may need to show proof of your return journey - your travel documentation issued by us will be sufficient for this. You will also need to use separate lanes from EU, EEA and Swiss citizens if manual checks are required.
You should always get appropriate travel insurance with healthcare cover before you go abroad which covers pre-existing conditions. You should understand the terms and conditions of your travel insurance and be happy with its cover for healthcare and travel disruption. Newmarket sell a comprehensive travel insurance policy. Ask our travel consultants for more information.
You should also apply for a UK Global Heath Insurance Card (GHIC) which lets you get urgent state healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes for free. Note GHIC is only valid in EU countries and not in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
Roaming charges are applied by some UK providers when visiting the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. Prior to travel, please do check with your phone operator for the most up to date information.
