Escorted Tours of Ranthambhore

The former hunting ground of Indian princes, beautiful Ranthambhore National Park, today, is a perfect natural habitat for endangered tigers and countless other species.

Said to be an inspiration for some of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’ stories, Ranthambhore National Park is not only one of the largest in northern India; it’s one of the best examples of conservation in the whole country. This national park stands atop a 600-metre-high hill range and is home to a vast array of wildlife. Whether you're a keen photographer or just a lover of wildlife and stunning scenery, Ranthambhore tours are certain to thrill.

Take a ranger-escorted tour through Ranthambhore National Park, and go in search of some of the park's most revered inhabitants. Ranthambhore trips provide the chance to see a truly incredible variety of fauna. From leopards and Indian foxes to sambar deers and mongooses, cameras will certainly be kept busy on any safari through the vast park. Of course, you'll also want to keep your eyes peeled for any sign of the estimated 80 tigers that call the area home. Bird watchers, meanwhile, will be delighted with a visit here; the park is home to more than 300 species of birds, including owls, eagles, kingfishers, nightjars and waterfowl.

Enjoy a rich mix of both savannah-like grasslands and densely packed forest wildernesses, each hosting their share of these most majestic of creatures. Lakarda and Anantpura, located in the northern area of the park, are the best places to spot the many sloths that are drawn to the ample ant hills in the area, and you may even be able to catch a glimpse of the rare Indian striped Hyenas here. Bakula, with its dense forest and variety of watering holes, is another great spot to see the local animals, including those elusive tigers. As the region's largest lake, a visit to Padam Talao in the heart of the park provides the chance to see a great mix of animals, such as chinkara deer, who stop by for a drink, as well as the resident crocodiles.

In addition to the ample wildlife, Ranthambhore trips also provide the chance to visit several attractions located within it. The 10th-century Ranthambhore Fort, nestled deep inside the park, was once a hunting ground for the kings of Jaipur, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trinetra Ganese Temple, meanwhile, is thought to be one of the oldest temples in India, with a history dating back to 1299. For an even older sight, catch a tantalising glimpse of the ancient Raj Bagh Ruins, surrounded by dense forest, from the comfort of your safari vehicle.
