Your Itinerary

  • After landing in Toronto, you’ll meet your tour manager and be transferred to Niagara Falls – a picturesque journey, taking around two and half hours. You’ll have time to settle in and relax at your hotel, which is situated by Niagara Falls and offers spectacular views.

  • An unforgettable experience awaits you today as you join your tour manager in front of your hotel for an orientation walk around the town and the falls.

You can choose how you want to spend the rest of your day, perhaps selecting one of three optional activities. You can go for the festive option of sampling Niagara Falls' finest blends on a tour of boutique wine farms, set off on the ‘Journey Behind the Falls’ experience, which involves descending by elevator to two outdoor observation decks directly behind the falls, or take to the sky on an optional helicopter ride, soaking in the incredible scenery from above. Those leaning towards something more laid-back can claim a seat at one of the nearby restaurants and warm up with a hot chocolate.

As night falls, the tour will head off to the Winter Festival of Lights – a showstopping event on Niagara Falls' holiday calendar. Walk through tunnels of three million twinkling lights, stretching across Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands and Niagara Falls. Take in the displays and snow-laden Christmas trees before returning to your hotel.

  • Leaving Niagara Falls behind, the tour will set off to the waterfront city of Toronto, stopping on the way at the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Looking out onto Lake Ontario, this is Canada’s oldest settlement, and it presents a pretty picture of well-preserved 19th-century buildings and tree-fringed lanes adorned with Christmas decorations and lights. Here, you’ll have three hours to wander and maybe work through your gift list in the cluster of boutiques and antique shops.

Once in Toronto, your tour manager will introduce the major landmarks and highlights of Toronto. Gander at the glittering waterfront developments, the sky-piercing CN Tower and the colourful, contrasting neighbourhoods. Afterwards, you can do some more Christmas shopping in the city's ultra-modern malls and make the most of the cosmopolitan dining options or perhaps take in a show - Toronto is Canada's capital of live entertainment.

  • Kick off today with a more in-depth tour of Toronto, which gives you a chance to get more acquainted with this capital over Christmas. Wrap up warm as you meander through Chinatown, Greektown, Little India and Little Italy, as well as Victorian Cabbagetown and stylish Yorkville.

A holiday highlight includes a visit to the cobble-stoned-lined Distillery Historic District’s Winter Village. This delightful European-style Christmas market experience is set around a giant tree laden with lights and colourful ornaments. Snap a photograph at one of the many installations, browse around the outdoor loop of cabins selling artisanal trinkets, pick up a snack from a food stall, or sit back and enjoy the live music.

  • This Christmas Eve, you have a free day in Toronto to tick off any of the activities left on your list. To see the city from a different angle, you might want to travel to the CN Tower, and if you’re feeling brave, possible experience the thrilling EdgeWalk. Alternatively, a stroll along the illuminated waterfront promenade may be more appealing or taking some time to visit a host of fine museums, galleries, or the historic Fort York, one of Canada’s most important battlefield sites. Casa Loma, a Gothic-style castle, which is transformed into a winter wonderland during the festive period, is worth checking out, as is St Lawrence Market.

  • It’s Christmas Day, and you’ll have another chance to traverse Toronto at your own pace, embracing all the moments of merriment on offer. Perhaps peruse another local Christmas market, seek out an ice-skating rink, or find a snug spot to sip on a mulled wine. As the sun sets, the Nights of Lights event takes place in the gardens of Assembly Park. This family-friendly, immersive experience features one million animated and synchronised lights adorning four tunnels, which you can amble through before visiting the fairground.

A special Christmas Day dinner will be enjoyed in the CN Tower at the 360 Restaurant. With spectacular views of the city, this unique revolving restaurant serves dishes inspired by locally sourced ingredients alongside a list of award-winning wines.

  • Following a relaxed morning, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight.

  • This morning you’ll arrive back in the UK after a magical Canadian Christmas holiday.
